Dust or toner on the corona wire may cause this error message to appear on the display. To clean the corona wire , follow the instructions listed below.
1. Press the cover release button and open the front cover.
2. Remove the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly. Place it on a drop cloth or disposable paper to avoid scattering toner.
3. Clean the primary corona wire inside the drum unit by gently sliding the blue tab from left to right and right to left several times. Be sureto return the blue tab to the home position.
4. Put the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly back in the machine.
5. Close the front cover.
6. If the message "Dust on Drum" continues to appear on the display, the drum, part number DR520 must be replaced.
